Bagmati Province’s Senior MP Dhungana Took Oath

Dec 28, Kathmandu: Ram Prasad Dhungana, a senior parliamentarian from Bagmati province, took the oath of office and secrecy.

On the basis of seniority among 110 MPs of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly, Provincial Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma administered the oath in the office of Provincial Chief on Wednesday. Dhungna was elected as a member of the Provincial Assembly from Nuwakot Constituency 2(1) on behalf of the CPN Maoist Centre. He was born on September 18,1949 AD as per the information provided by the Election Commission to the state assembly secretariat and the state head office.

As per the constitutional arrangement, Dhungna will preside over the assembly as the senior member till the Speaker and Deputy Speaker are elected in the Provincial Assembly.

The oath-taking ceremony of the remaining members of the Provincial Assembly elected to the Provincial Assembly is scheduled to be held tomorrow, Thursday, at 2:00 pm at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, Hetaunda. Senior MP Dhungana will administer the oath to the rest of the MPs.
