Jan 29, Kathmandu- Consumer rights activists have requested not to use electric blankets sold in the market. They have raised their voice saying that the electric circuit flowing in such blankets will cause shocks and also affect the human body.
Recently, the sale of blankets that gets warmed by connecting electricity has been increasing in the international market. Electric blankets worth 1 crore 49 lakh 98 thousand rupees have also been imported in Nepal in the last six months.
It is said that selling such blankets, which are increasing in the market, is illegal as well as harmful to human health.
An electrical consumer group called Sepratly Charity Electrical Safety First has said that electric blankets being sold online are extremely dangerous. In that case, the government has also demanded to ensure the rights of consumers by introducing a new legal system.
