Feb 06, Kathmandu- Now the internet will be available free of charge in the individual and community campuses under Tribhuvan University and Nepal Sanskrit University. An agreement was signed between the Nepal Telecommunication Authority and the respective universities on Sunday to provide broadband internet to these campuses.
The agreement was signed by Chairman Purushottam Khanal on behalf of Nepal Telecommunication Authority and Registrar Prof. Dr. Peshal Dahal on behalf of Tribhuvan University and Registrar Madhav Adhikari on behalf of Nepal Sanskrit University.
According to the agreement, the rural telecommunication development fund will be mobilized and broadband internet will be delivered to the individual and community campuses of Tribhuvan University and Nepal Sanskrit University, the authority informed.
According to the authority, free internet will be available at that location for two years under this project. It is said that after two years, the respective campuses themselves will have to purchase internet from the service provider at the price set by the authority. It is believed that through the use of technology, the educational work being carried out by the university will be more organized and it will also help in alternative learning.
