Mar 15, Kathmandu: The Election Commission has released the sample ballot paper for the Vice President election. For the vice presidential election to be held on March 17, the Commission released the sample ballot paper with the candidate's photo on Tuesday.
Separate ballot papers have been kept for the members of the Federal Parliament and the members of the Provincial Assembly. Joint Secretary Shaligram Paudel, who is also the spokesperson of the Election Commission, informed Nepal Press that the photo of the vice-presidential candidate was also placed on the ballot paper.
CPN (UML) Vice President Ashtalakshmi Shakya, Janata Samajwadi Party leaders Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav and Pramila Kumari, and Janamat Party's Mamta Jha are candidates for Vice President.
Yadav is supported by the ruling coalition including CPN (Maoist Centre), Nepali Congress, and CPN (Unified Socialist), while it is not clear who supports Shakya except UML.
Since Pramila Kumari did not withdraw her nomination at the time of withdrawal, her name and photograph are also included in the ballot paper. However, she has already announced her support for Yadav.
Jha is supported by Janamat Party along with Civil Liberties Party and the Democratic Socialist Party (LSPA).
