Raid On IS Hideout In Afghanistan, Many Killed

Mar 18, Kathmandu- Afghan security forces raided Islamic State (IS) terrorist hideouts in northern Balkh province on Friday night. Zabihullah Mujahid, the chief spokesman of the Afghan caretaker administration, said on Saturday that many insurgents were killed in the attack by the security forces. Officials reported that raids were conducted in police districts 5, 6, and 8 of Mazar-i-Sharif city, the provincial capital of northern Balkh province of Afghanistan.

Spokesperson Mujahid did not reveal the number of IS fighters killed in the operation. He said that one security guard was also injured during the action. During the operation, the security personnel also recovered arms and bullets.
