Anti-narcotics Campaign Started By Destroying Marijuana

Mar, 19, Kathmandu- After a large quantity of weed was grown near Mankhola on the border of Banke and Bardiya, the police with the help of the local residents cleared them.

The police team deployed under the command of Assistant Inspector Gajendra Singh Bhandari of Raniapur Police Station under Dhanauli Police Office, along with the participation of local residents, carried out the wiping of weeds.

"Though marijuana has grown on its own in the garden, it has become easier for the youth who are addicted," said Thakuri, a member of the ward. "Because the youth gather all night and do various activities in the places where there is marijuana, there is also a request for destroying the weeds".

Police Inspector Sandeep Belbase, in-charge of Police Office Dhanauli, informed that the police have been mobilized by making an action plan with priority to control all types of drug consumption, transportation and business.

Due to the fact that it is an Indian border region, there are rumors that various types of drugs are imported from India and consumed and traded here.

Police Inspector Belbase said that the support and cooperation of the local residents is indispensable under the community police program for drug control.

He has requested to provide timely information to the police for drug control by identifying and arresting those who deal in drugs and those who take them regularly.
