Karki And Two Treasurers Of NSU Elected From Manthali Campus

Mar 20, Kathmandu- Avinash Karki of NSU has been elected as the President of the Independent Student Union (ISU) at Manthali Shaheed Smriti Multiple Campus in Ramechhap headquarters Manthali.

In the election held on Sunday, Karki won by defeating Pushkar Bhattarai, the candidate of ANNISU, by 63 votes. While Karki got 286 votes, his competitor ANNISU candidate Bhattarai got 223 votes.

Sushil Thapa of ANNISU has been elected to the post of secretary of ISU, defeating the candidate of alliance between NSU, Akhil Revolutionary Student Organization, and CPN Unified Socialist Close Student Organization. Thapa defeated Tej Bahadur Shrestha, the candidate of the alliance, by 16 votes.

Thapa got 260 votes while Shrestha got only 244 votes. Similarly, it has been announced that two people, Binita Shrestha of ANNISU and Kabita Kharel of the Alliance, have been elected to the post of treasurer.

Election officer Rita Dahal said that with the consent of both the candidates and also with the consent of the student organization that participated in the election, both of them were declared treasurers.

Shrestha and Kharel, who will be elected treasurers, have received 251/251 votes. Anoj Bhujel, Manisha Kafle, Yuvraj Budhathoki, Binod Kumar Majhi, and Binita Majhi of the alliance have been elected as members.

514 votes fell out of 703 votes in the election for the new leadership of Manthali Campus Swaviyu. On the proportional side, the United Alliance got 278 votes, while ANNISU got 234 votes.

According to the votes obtained by the joint alliance through the proportional system, four members will be elected from the alliance and three members will be elected from ANNISU.
