Mar 20, Kathmandu- In the very first match of the SAFF U-17 Women's Championship, Nepal has been defeated by a strong team, India.

Nepal lost to India by 4-1 in the match that took place on Monday at Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mustofa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Trailing 3-0 in the first half of the game, Nepal scored a consolation goal in the second half.

Silji scored in the 10th, 40th, and 80th minutes to complete the hat-trick in India's win. Pooja added 1 goal in the 41st minute. For Nepal, Varsha Oli scored a goal in the 54th minute of the game.

In the second match of the championship, Nepal will play against Bhutan on Wednesday. The game will start at 7:30 PM. They are scheduled to play Russia in the third match on March 26 and Bangladesh in the final match on March 28.

Along with host Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Bhutan and Russia are participating in the championship.
