Apr 9, Kathmandu:  Aliza Gautam has been assigned the responsibility of Women's Department Coordinator of the Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP). This decision was taken at the two-day meeting of the party's central committee held in Kathmandu.

Journalist Rishi Dhamala's wife Aliza joined the party only two months ago. Advocate Geeta Chaudhary, who was earlier the coordinator of the women's department of the party was given the responsibility of the legal coordinator.

Earlier, Damodar Pandit who was limited to the role of spokesperson was given the responsibility of the senior vice president of the party, while Laxman Kishore Jogethwa Tharu and Himachal Bhattarai were elected as vice presidents.

The meeting has decided to hold the first convention from December 22 to 24 2023 AD in Tikapur. Earlier, the date of the convention was fixed from  April 19 to 21 AD.
