Police In Biratnagar Urged To Fire Tear Gas After Clash Emerged

Apr 22, Kathmandu- In Biratnagar, there was a clash between the agitating parties and the police demanding the renaming of the province on the basis of identity.

The clash took place after the police blocked the traffic by marking the road in front of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers office as a prohibited area.

The police said that the clash broke out after the protesting party broke into the prohibited area. The police fired tear gas and batons during the clash on the road 200 meters north of the Chief Minister's office.

The body of Padam Limbu, who was injured on the 5th of Chaitra and died on the 10th of Chaitra, was brought from Dharan to Biratnagar on Saturday to pay his respects during the protests against naming the province Koshi.
