Sep 15, Kathmandu- The Bardo National Museum of Tunisia, which has been closed for more than two years, has reopened from Thursday. The museum was closed on 25th July, 2021.
The museum was also closed after Tunisian President Kais Saied closed the building adjacent to the parliament and the museum. Tunisia's Minister of Culture, Hayat Guermazi, said during a ceremony on Wednesday night that the ministry had closed the historic building for maintenance and restoration, but now that the work has been completed, it has been opened. The museum was damaged in a terrorist attack in 2015.
In which more than 20 people died. The National Museum located in the capital Tunisia was established in 1888. It is considered to be the main Tunisian heritage. Before it was closed, 50,000 tourists from all over the world used to go there every year.
