Teachers Association Did Not Go To The Meeting Called By The Ministry Of Education

Sep 19, Kathmandu- The Nepal National Teachers Association has refused to negotiate with the government.

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology called for talks at 3 o'clock on Tuesday after the federation announced that it would stop teaching and protest.

Expressing displeasure with the school education bill, the Federation of Teachers has announced a protest including school closure from tomorrow on Constitution Day. The ministry said that a negotiation committee has been formed under the leadership of Education, Science, and Technology Minister Ashok Rai and asked them to postpone the protest program and come to the talks.

But the teachers' federation did not go to the talks. "There is no point in negotiating where the problem is not resolved," said Federation General Secretary Laxmikishore Sudevi.
