Trapped Red Panda Been Rescue

Dec 08, Kathmandu- A rare red panda (Habre) has been rescued in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality of Taplejung. A red panda caught in a trap in the Waku area of Phaktanglung rural municipality-4 Ikhabu was rescued alive.

According to the Himalayan Conservation Forum in the district, the red panda, which was caught in a cotton rope trap, was found by the locals and was safely rescued and released into the forest. In the presence of employees of Himalayan Conservation Forum, an organization active in the protection of red pandas, representatives of the Division Forest Office, locals, etc., the rescued red panda was released in a safe forest after collecting the incident report (bond).

According to Ramesh Rai, program coordinator of the platform, the health of the red panda was examined in the presence of a veterinarian, and the red panda was given a vaccine and released into the forest. It is assumed that the red panda may have fallen into a trap set by illegal poachers for other wild animals.
