Demonstration in Surkhet demanding that the deceased youth be declared a martyr

Dec 31, Kathmandu- Relatives of Lalitpur's Balkumari, who were killed during the demonstration on Friday, have started a protest with 8 points including declaring them as martyrs.

In protest against the incident, they have started demonstrations in Birendra Nagar and Dailekh of Surkhet. On Saturday, they protested at Erichowk, Birendra Chowk and Mangalgadhi Chowk of Birendra Nagar. They also protested on Sunday. Relatives of 21-year-old Sujan Rawat of Mahabu Rural Municipality-6 of Dailekh have started a demonstration in Birendranagar.

They are demanding that the deceased should be declared a martyr. Sangita Dhakal, the friend of the deceased, said that two youths were killed by the police during a peaceful demonstration and demanded that they should be declared martyrs.

They have also submitted 8-point demands to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal along with the declaration of martyrs, and they have said that they will continue the agitation until those demands are fulfilled.
