Jordan And The UAE Call For A Ceasefire In Gaza

Feb 06, Kathmandu- King Abdullah II of Jordan and President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan have called for a ceasefire in Gaza.

During their meeting in Amman, King Abdullah and the UAE President stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to protect civilians and ensure the continuous and adequate delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of the Strip. The leaders warned against the consequences of continuing the conflict in Gaza, exacerbating the devastating humanitarian situation.

Reiterating their full support for the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights, both sides said the only way to restore security and stability in the region is to initiate a political process to reach a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue.

King Abdullah called for the continued support of the international community to enable the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the United Nations to provide essential humanitarian services given the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
