Feb 12, Kathmandu- The Education, Health and Information Technology Committee under the House of Representatives called the Education, Science and Technology Minister Ashok Kumar Rai today (Monday) for information about the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University. The committee had informed its members accordingly. Although the members were present at the scheduled time, Education Minister Rai did not participate in the committee meeting. Minister Rai sent the Minister of State to cover the meeting.
When the Minister of State for Education Pramila Kumari was present at the place where the minister was to answer, the members of the committee became angry. The Minister of State informed about the progress regarding the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor of the University. She said that the secretary will provide more information saying that she has to go to the National Assembly meeting. The MPs were outraged when the Minister of State attended the place where the Minister should be present and answered and the Secretary was assigned the place where the questions were to be answered.
