Feb 24, Kathmandu- Today, the police have released the woman who stole the newborn baby from the Charity Maternity and Gynecology Hospital in Thapathali, Kathmandu.
Spokesman and Superintendent of Police Navraj Adhikari informed that 24-year-old Mankumari Singh, who is a resident of Dailekh Naumu Rural Municipality-1 and currently lives in Kandaghari, Kathmandu, who is involved in child theft, has been arrested. According to him, the police team assigned from the Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested her from his living room on Friday night and made it public today.
District Police Complex Kathmandu informed that the stolen baby was handed over to relatives after rescue and is now being treated at Kathmandu Medical College Sinamangal. Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police said that the police are investigating the incident further.
The 22-year-old Sabina Shrestha, a resident of Chauri Deurali Rural Municipality-3 of Kavrepalanchok and currently living in Kapan, Kathmandu, gave a verbal report to the police saying that her 26-day-old baby was stolen from the maternity hospital on Friday afternoon.
