Shopkeeper Selling Smartphones Defrauding Revenue Been Arrested

Apr 01, Kathmandu- A shop owner has been arrested for selling fraudulent smartphones. Among those arrested is 22-year-old Saroj Yonjan, who hails from Ramechhap Khandadevi Rural Municipality and is currently living in Lalitpur Balkumari.

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office received a secret information that mobile phones of various companies were being stolen and distributed in Balkumari area of Lalitpur. Deputy Superintendent of Police Chakra Bahadur Malla's team from that office raided accused Yonjan's mobile shop on Friday. During that time, Yonjan was detained along with 35 phones of different brands, the police said.

According to the police, mobile worth 1.5 million rupees was seized during a raid at the trending mobile hub operated by Yonjan. Among the recovered phones are three iPhones, six Samsungs, three Moto Edges, two Redmis, two Realme, one Narzo and one Oppo.

According to the police, one IQOO nine, five Vivo, and 11 OnePlus have also been recovered. Arrested Yonjan has been sent to Revenue Investigation Department Harihar Bhawan, Lalitpur for necessary action.
