Class 8 exam in Maiwakhola: Five passed in 178 people participants

Apr 08, Kathmandu- Only five students have passed the class 8 annual examination conducted by Maiwakhola Rural Municipality of Taplejung.

Out of 178 students who participated in the exam, only five students passed.

Those students of class 8 studying in 8 public schools in the village participated in the examination.

According to the education branch of Maiwakhola rural municipality, students of four schools were killed.

According to the branch, two community schools cannot even give exams for grade enhancement.

Only 25 students who fail in two subjects will be allowed to take the exam for grade enhancement. The rural municipality has informed that the grade increase exam will be conducted on the 10th of Baisakh.

Vijayaprakash Vanem, Chairman of Maiwakhola Rural Municipality, said that the rural municipality arranged subject experts to conduct the examination and prepare the question papers.

According to the municipality, the results of the examination have been published after the evaluation of subject expert teachers outside the municipality, including the answer booklets.

"Disappointing examination results in a sensitive area like education and in areas where the state has invested heavily have affected the situation of the entire community school", President Vanem said, "It is time for students, teachers, parents, public representatives, staff and all education lovers and civil society to think seriously".

According to the rural municipality, this result shows the real condition of the community school and will help in making plans for the coming days.
