May 09, Kathmandu- Hikmat Kumar Karki, the leader of the parliamentary party of CPN-UML Koshi Province, has submitted a claim for the Chief Ministership of Koshi Province. On Thursday, according to Article 168 (5) of the Constitution, with the signatures of 52 MPs including the CPN Maoist Center, the claim was submitted to the Chief Minister before the Chief Minister Parshuram Khapung.
Chief Minister Kedar Karki is preparing to file a writ in the Supreme Court while the UML and Maoists are submitting claims to form the government in Biratnagar and he has now arrived in Kathmandu.
Chief Minister Karki has insisted that since he is the Chief Minister according to Article 168-5 of the Constitution, another government cannot be formed according to this Article.
