UN General Assembly Passed A Resolution To Celebrate World Football Day On May 25

May 09, Kathmandu- The resolution to celebrate May 25 every year as World Football Day has been passed by the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Dennis Francis, the president of the 193-member General Assembly, the resolution was passed with the applause of the diplomats in the meeting room. On May 25, 1924, the first international football tournament in history was held during the Summer Olympic Games in Paris with all regions represented. Considering the same date, this day is going to be celebrated on the occasion of the 100th anniversary.
