Federal Education Act should be introduced to solve the problems of the education sector: Minister Chaudhary

May 11, Kathmandu- Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Bhagbati Chaudhary has said that the Federal Education Act is urgently needed to solve all the problems in the education sector. Minister Chaudhary said this while addressing the anniversary and award distribution program organized by Apple International School Tinkune on Saturday.

Saying that schools are temples of learning, Minister Chaudhary urged the adoption of child-centred teaching and learning. She said that the constitution has given the field of education to the local people, and she said that the future teaching and learning should be child-friendly.

Education is given at the local level in the constitution. Some things differ according to the local level (there is a provision to make different arrangements), She said, "According to the structure of the state, some subjects of education should be uniform at that level. Courses should also be life useful, according to current technology. Since schools, secondary schools, schools are at the local level, some rights have gone to the local level. There is a need for child-centred teaching and learning".

She said that schools, families, and the state all have a role to play in making teaching and learning contemporary and child-centered. She said that there have been many complaints regarding the decline in the standard of government schools, and she said that the problem may have arisen due to the politicization of schools.

Minister Chaudhary also said that there is a need for a separate children's court for justice for children who have been wronged by various sides, subjected to violence, involved in various criminal acts and placed under restrictions. Minister Choudhary said that it is the children of today who will build the country in the future and said that various bills related to education are currently being discussed in the Parliament.
