Intellectual And Beauty Competition For Transgender Women

May 12, Kathmandu- There will be an intellectual and beauty competition for sexual and minority (transgender) women. In a press conference organized by Nilhira Society, Simran Sherchan, a member of the society, informed that the competition is going to be held on the 3rd of Jestha to enhance the capacity of sexual and minority women.

The society is going to hold a competition on the day against hatred of sexual and minority communities. The World Health Organization has been celebrating the day on May 17, 1990, when it declared that sexual and minority mental illness is not a disease. This year, no one should be left behind. The day is being celebrated with the slogan 'Let equality and social justice be maintained'.

The competition will be held at the Rastriya Naach Ghar. In the competition where 19 people will participate, the first prize winner will be given one lakh, the second winner will be given Rs.75,000 and the third winner will be given a certificate along with some amount of cash. According to Sherchan, the winner of the competition will be invited to participate in the transgender beauty pageant in Bangkok, Thailand. The organiser provided training for 15 days to the participants for capacity building and personality development.
