95.85 Billion Rupees Spent On Education

May 12, Kathmandu- Till Chaitra 2080/81, 95.85 billion rupees have been spent abroad for education.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, this amount has been withdrawn from Nepal along with the students who are going to study abroad. This is much more than the previous year. In the same period of the previous year, only 67 billion 190 million rupees were spent abroad for education. As more funds are spent abroad for education, it has been found that the travel expenses have also increased sharply compared to the previous year. In 9 months of this year, travel expenses have reached 143 billion 220 million. Out of this, 95.85 billion rupees were spent on education and 47.37 billion rupees worth of foreign currency was taken abroad for travelling.

During this period, Nepal has earned 60 billion 450 million rupees through foreign tourists. This is about 40 percent more than the same period last year. That year, the tourism income was 43.17 billion.
