Nepali Football Team Announced For World Cup Qualifiers

May 14, Kathmandu- The 28-member Nepali football team has been announced today for the match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of the second round of World Cup qualifiers.

Nepali national football team head coach Vincenzo Alberto Enes has announced the 28-member players in the initial stage. The goalkeepers of the selected Nepali team are Kiran Chemjong, Abhishek Baral, Bishal Sunar and Santosh Mahat.

Similarly, Abhishek Limbu, Ananta Tamang, Bimal Pandey, Bishal Basnet, Chhiring Lama, Rohit Chand, Sanish Shrestha, Saubhagya Rai, Ajay Chaudhary and Yogesh Gurung have been selected in the defenders.

Midfielders include Bharat Khawas, Laken Limbu, Manikumar Lama, Manish Dangi, Basanta Jimba, Fatteman Ghale, Rohan Karki and Sumit Shrestha while forwards include Anjan Bisht, Dinesh Henjan, Jellesp Jung Karki, Hishub Thapalia, Sameer Tamang and Sanjeev Bista.

The match between Nepal and UAE was scheduled to be held on June 24 at Dashrath Stadium. But the AFC (Asian Football Federation) has instructed the match to be played at a neutral venue, saying that the standard of the Dasharath stadium is not up to par.
