Nepal Veterinary Council Got International Quality Certificate

Jun 07, Kathmandu- The Nepal Veterinary Council has received the international quality certificate ISO 9001:2015.

The council has succeeded in obtaining ISO 9001:2015 international quality certificate on the basis of good management.

Registrar of the Council Dr. Manoj Kumar Shahi said that the first under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and also the first among the public institutions received ISO 9001:2015. "We have obtained the ISO in the managerial aspect," he said, "it has proved that public bodies also have good service facilities, transparency, and promptness. We are trying to work as a model in more public bodies."

With the receipt of ISO, all the services provided through the council's civil letter and office management have been proven to be of an international standard.

The Nepal Veterinary Council has been doing the work of conducting licensing examinations of Nepal's veterinarians, registering names, regulating the educational institutions where veterinary studies are conducted, providing continuous education and training for the development of the capacity of veterinarians, implementing the code of conduct of human resources for the quality of veterinary services, etc.

Keeping in view the recent modernization, Shahi said, the council has become completely 'digitalised'. "A system has been developed for all service users to receive all services quickly from their place of residence", he said.

According to Shahi, the council has given more than 70 million 'e-library access to publications' through electronic technology.
