National Identity Card Made Mandatory For Real Estate Transactions

Jun 28, Kathmandu- The government has made national identity card mandatory for real estate business. The Ministry of Home Affairs has published a notice in the gazette and has made the national identity card mandatory for the purchase and sale of real estate from next Magh 1.

Now, even though the real estate resignation pass and letter are being passed from the citizenship of the buyer and the seller, since January 1st, the national identity card has been made mandatory for the purchase and sale of real estate, according to the objective of implementing the national identity card to all agencies, according to Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

He said, "The Ministry of Home Affairs has published a public notice in the gazette containing the decisions made by the government regarding the use of national identity cards for the purposes of Sections 3 and 10 of the National Identity Card and Registration Act 2076. Now it is mandatory to submit the national identity card in the purchase and sale of real estate."

The Ministry has also made national circular mandatory for services related to banking and financial services, social security fund and real estate purchase and sale from January 1. Bhattarai, Joint Secretary and Spokesman of the Ministry, said that the National Identity Card has been made mandatory from July 1 to obtain services related to social security, health insurance, pension, revenue (personal income tax registration), driver's license, company registration and renewal, applicable in various districts.

According to him, from next January 1st, it will be compulsory to submit national identity card to get SIM card. According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, in order to receive public service facilities provided by government agencies, organizations and the private sector, it is now necessary to submit a national identity card or a national identity number instead of a citizenship certificate.
