Jun 28, Kathmandu- Nepal has imported paddy and rice worth 20 billion in 11 months of the current financial year.

According to the statistics published by the Ministry of Agriculture, till the end of Jestha of the current financial year, 305 million 310 thousand 520 kg of rice has been imported worth 11 billion 552 million 579 thousand rupees.

Similarly, during that period, it has imported 82 million 769 thousand 89 kg of rice, i.e. rice worth 8 billion 696 million 685 thousand rupees. According to the ministry, rice seeds worth 886.65 million 21 thousand rupees have been imported. It is mentioned in the data of the ministry that Nepal has also imported 920 thousand Kanika.
