Dr. Baburam Submitted Demand Letter To The Prime Minister On The Work Of Budhi Gandaki

Jun 28, Kathmandu- Former Prime Minister and Chairman of Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP) Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has submitted a demand letter to the government demanding the progress of the Budhigandaki hydropower project.

As the government is trying to build it as a reservoir project, Dr. Bhattarai has demanded that it should be operated as a multi-purpose project.

Dr. Bhattarai along with party leaders and MPs from Gorkha reached Singhdarwar to deliver the demand letter to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.

Nespa leader Manushi Yami Bhattarai, who participated in the team, informed that the government has been given an ultimatum to start the work of multi-purpose project in Budhigand by the middle of August. She said that Prime Minister Prachanda has also been informed of a strong protest if the work does not start. "Even after August, we have warned that if the government does not take it seriously, it will go as a protest," said Manushi.

According to him, although the government's expenditure on the Budhigandaki project has increased, the progress is very low. Therefore, if the work is not carried out immediately, there is a danger of the project collapsing, she said.

Before handing over the demand letter to Prime Minister Prachanda, Dr. Bhattarai discussed this with Gorkha leaders, MPs and locals.
