Process Of Appointing Chairman Of The Securities Board Been Cancelled

Jun 28, Kathmandu- The ongoing process for appointing the chairman of the Nepal Securities Board has been cancelled. Even though 5 candidates were selected, the subsequent process could not be completed and the process itself was cancelled.

The recommendation committee formed to recommend names to appoint the chairman of the Nepal Securities Board published a notice and said that all the procedures have been cancelled. The Ministry of Finance formed a recommendation committee for the appointment of the board chairman under the chairmanship of Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha, vice chairman of the National Planning Commission. However, the committee could not send the names of 3 people to the Ministry of Finance as the interview of the last 5 people and the presentation of the action plan fell into dispute.

The committee said in the notification, "According to the decision of the committee on June 14, 2081, to recommend the name of the chairman of the Nepal Securities Board by publishing a notice on February 16, 2080, all the procedures related to the selection completed by the committee have been cancelled so far. This notice is published for the information of all concerned."
