This Year Marks Six People With D Grade In SEE

Jun 28, Kathmandu- The National Board of Examinations has announced the result of SEE on Thursday.

Out of 464,785 people who took the exam this year, 47.86 percent have passed. This year 186 people have secured 4 GPA.

According to the National Examination Board, 31 thousand 209 examinees have scored 3.60 to 4 GPA.

68 thousand examinees have scored 3.20 to 3.60 GPA. The number of examinees with GPA between 2.80 and 3.20 is 78 thousand 874.

The number of those who get 2.40 to 2.80 GPA is 41 thousand 177. This year only 6 got 1.60 to 2.0 GPA.

Last year, the number of students who scored 1.60 to 2.0 GPA was 18 thousand 24.

The board has released the results this year according to the letter grading guidelines 2078. There is a provision for different theoretical and internal evaluation in the said guidelines.

Students should score minimum 35% in each subject in theory.

At least 27 marks in 75 whole subjects of theoretical side and at least 10 marks in 25 whole subjects of internal side. Therefore, the number of examinees who got 1.6 to 2.0 GPA was only 6, said Nandalal Paudel, Controller of Examinations.

"I had to get 35 points in theory too. Only a few passed. Everyone else would go up. That's why it happened," he said.

The letter grading guidelines 2078 have determined grades from A+ to D. Previously, all the candidates who were up to D+ and E have been classified as non-grade this year.

Last year, the number of students who got D grade was 38 thousand 770 and the number of students who got E grade was 2 thousand 200. In this way, 40,200 students scored less than 35 marks in any subject.

This year, 52.14 percent of the total examinees are in non-grading. That means 242 thousand 313 students will not be able to study class 11 directly. They have to give supplementary exam.

Exam controller Paudel said that this year's results have improved compared to the previous year.

3.6-4 The number of visitors increased by 2 percent. The flood was four percent. Now it is 6 percent. Bringing in 3.2-3.6 rose three percent. Flood was 11 percent. Now it is 14 percent. There were 14 people who brought 2.8 to 3.2, now they are 16," he said.

He said that this year's results are better than the previous ones due to the increase in the number of students getting higher grades. Out of the non-graded students, those who have scored low marks in only 2 subjects will be allowed to join the supplementary examination to be conducted in Shrawan.

According to Paudel, the Controller of Examinations, less than 35 marks were scored in two subjects out of 115,000 examinees.

"Those students will take the supplementary examination in Shrawan. The rest will take the exam next year in the subject in which they got the lowest marks,'' he said.

Last year, 10,000 students took the grade enhancement exam. More than 100,000 students who appeared in the SEE exam this year will not be able to study 11th.

"It is not good to have many students in non-grade. But quality education is everyone's desire. This has been done so that attention should be focused on this", he said.
