60 Kg Gold smuggling case: Another case filed against 60 people

Jul 02, Kathmandu- The District Public Prosecutor's Office has filed another case in the Kathmandu District Court, making 60 people defendants in the smuggling of 60 kilos of gold in brake shoes and other electrical goods.

Based on the investigation conducted by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, the public prosecutor's office has filed a case against two digital payment provider companies as well. While testing the goods imported in the name of different dummy companies, the weight of gold in the parts of those goods was 3194.668 kg. It is mentioned in the indictment. The value of the illegal gold recovered in this way is 30 billion 841 million 226 thousand 440 in the indictment.

It is mentioned in the indictment that the Chinese citizen was in the group of the defendant Wang Dozeng and organized and formed a criminal group and smuggled gold in a pyramid style by sending information between the groups secretly and layer by layer.
