20 Died In Russian Attack On A Children's Hospital

Jul 08, Kathmandu- A Russian missile has crashed into a children's hospital in the capital of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the city administration, said 10 people were killed and 31 were wounded in the attack in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih.

This was the biggest bombing in Kyiv in a few months. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, one of Russia's most advanced weapons, including a Kinzhal hypersonic missile, was used in the day-long attack, officials said.

It is difficult to stop it as it flies at high speed i.e. 10 times the speed of sound. The buildings of the city were shaken due to the explosion.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia had fired more than 40 different types of missiles at apartment buildings and public structures.

The Kyiv city administration said that in some areas debris from the missile had fallen and started to catch fire. A thick plume of smoke rose from many areas of Kyiv.

Andrii Yermak, the head of Ukraine's presidential office, said the attack took place when many people were gathering on the streets of the city.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said an official assessment of the outcome of the attack was underway. In the central Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, local authorities have also reported explosions.

The attack came on the eve of a three-day NATO summit in Washington aimed at reassuring Ukraine of the alliance's unwavering support and raising hopes of how Ukraine can get through Europe's biggest conflict since World War II.
