Jul 09, Kathmandu- National Independent Party has dismissed the party's General Minister Dr. Mukul Dhakal as the General Minister, spokesperson and central member. The party's central committee meeting held today at the party's central office, Balaju, Kathmandu, decided to dismiss General Minister Dhakal from the duties of general minister, central member and party spokesperson.
Narrating the party's decision, Acting Spokesperson Manisha Jha said that based on the discussion in the Central Committee, Dhakal was dismissed from the post with the judgment that he had violated the party's code of conduct. Acting Spokesperson Jha said that taking into account the recommendations of the Central Disciplinary Commission, it was a unanimous decision to relieve him of responsibility from various positions. According to him, if Dhakal is not satisfied with the decision made by the Central Committee according to Article 57 of the party constitution, it has been decided that he can file an appeal to the appeal committee of the party within 35 days.
The Disciplinary Commission of the RSP had suggested that Dr. Dhakal should be expelled so that he would not even remain an ordinary member of the party. The 32-page report prepared by Dhakal after visiting 38 districts was also criticized for being released without discussion within the party.
