Jul 28, Kathmandu- A truck running in Dang caught fire and was destroyed. The Sudurpaschim Pradesh 01-001 B 3337 truck, which was coming from Mahendranagar to Lamhi of Dang under the East-West highway, caught fire and was destroyed.
Chief Superintendent of Police Ram Bahadur KC of District Police Office Dang informed that the truck caught fire at around 4:25 a.m. while driving in the forest area near Lamhi Municipality-9 Chaukhola on Sunday morning.
According to the preliminary investigation, it appears that the vehicle caught fire by itself, Superintendent of Police KC said, "It is said that the fire started due to a wiring short". The police are investigating the incident further.
The fire in the truck was brought under control with the help of fire brigade and police of Lamhi municipality around 5:30 am. According to Superintendent of Police KC, there were three people in the truck including the driver. While trying to extinguish the fire, 38-year-old Ramesh Dutta Joshi, a resident of Krishnanagar Municipality-2, Kanchanpur District, sustained minor injuries.
As soon as the truck was on fire, a five-member team under the command of Deputy Inspector Madhav Rawat from the temporary post Rihar Dang under the highway was dispatched to the spot. According to the police, the part of the truck's engine, part of the bumper and 6 tires were completely burnt due to the fire. According to the police, the empty truck was coming to take cement from the cement industry in Lamhi. It is said that the driver is under police custody.
