Jul 30, Kathmandu- The number of deaths due to landslides in Wayanad, Kerala state of India is increasing. The bodies of 47 people have been excavated so far after the midnight landslide.
It is said that another 100 people may be trapped in it. There are some children among the dead. Along with the army, the water force was also deployed in the rescue operation.
The landslide occurred around 2 am on Tuesday. Then another landslide occurred at 4:10. It is said that there have been landslides about 2-3 times. It is said that 16 people who were injured due to the landslide are being treated in the hospital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced compensation of 2 lakh rupees from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund to the families of those who lost their lives in the landslide. In addition, it has been announced that the injured will be given 50,000 rupees each.
