Final List Of 275 Million Of Poor Families In 15 Districts Been Approved

Aug 01, Kathmandu- The government has approved the final list of 275 million poor households in 15 districts from the Council of Ministers.

The cabinet meeting held four days ago approved the final list of 271 thousand 640 poor families in 15 districts according to sub-section 2 of Section 15 of the 'Poor Household Identification and Identity Card Distribution Guideline 2075' on the proposal of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.

15 districts include Okhaldhunga, Kanchanpur, Gulmi, Dolakha, Dhanusha, Nuwakot, Parsa, Bara, Baitadi, Manang, Mustang, Rupandehi, Saptari, Sarlahi and Sindhupalchok, said the government's spokesperson Prithvisubba Gurung in a regular press conference held at the ministry.

In paragraph 4 of the 'Poor Household Identification and Identity Card Distribution Guideline 2075', there is a provision for the approval of poor families and the distribution of identity cards. In section 15 under the said paragraph, approval of poor families, if there is a need to amend the list of poor families classified under section 13 according to section 15, it is amended accordingly and submitted to the Council of Ministers for the approval of the ministry.

In sub-section 2, there is a provision that after the proposal under section 1 is approved by the Cabinet, the ministry will proceed with the process of issuing the circular. With the approval of 15 districts, now the ministry is going to proceed with the process of issuing identity cards.

According to spokesperson Subba, the meeting approved the University of Nepal Infrastructure Development Preparatory Board (Formation) (Second Amendment) Order 2081.
