Tata Semiconductor Plant To Be Set Up In Assam, 27,000 Job Opportunities

Aug 04, Kathmandu- Tata Group is going to set up a semiconductor plant in Morigaon, Assam, India, with an investment of 27 thousand crores.

Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran announced the establishment of the industry.

He expressed his belief that the facility will be completed and operational within a short period, i.e. in 2025.

The semiconductor plant is the basic plant for the future. Chips are going to be part of everything we do in our daily, industrial and consumer lives. It will generate or employ 27,000 people, 15,000 direct jobs and an additional 12,000 indirect jobs,” said Chairman Chandrashekaran.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma mentioned that 11,000 to 13,000 indirect jobs are expected to be created in this plant.

Meanwhile, Union Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said the plant will be very large and will produce around 4.83 crore chips per day.

He mentioned that all the three major technologies used in this plant are developed in India, the chips produced at the plant are used in electric vehicles and practically every major company uses these chips.
