In the last few years, machine learning and artificial intelligence have become increasingly popular among people and companies. In such a situation, companies are continuously incorporating it into their products and new innovations. Continuing this trend, the researchers of Google DeepMind have built such a robot, which can play table tennis.
The company has tested this robot with a total of 29 participants. During the match with the players, the robot initially won almost all the matches.
The robot won 55 percent of the games against mid-level players. Robots had to struggle a lot with advanced level players and the participants lost all the games. In addition, 26 of the 29 participants expressed interest in playing with the robot again. The company has also shared a video of the robot being tested.
In this video, the robot is shown playing games with different people. It uses advanced technologies to reduce the simulation-to-real-world gap.
This improves the decision-making process of the robot. Despite the robot's success, the robot has faced challenges in handling fastballs. Due to this, there was a delay in the system.
