Sep 03, Kathmandu- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for a three-day official visit to Brunei Darussalam and Singapore on Tuesday.
This will be Modi's first visit to Brunei as Indian Prime Minister. Sources said that this visit, scheduled on the occasion of the completion of 40 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, is of bilateral importance.
In the second leg of the visit, Prime Minister Modi will visit Singapore on September 4-5, sources said.
In his departure statement, Indian Prime Minister Modi stated that the purpose of his double visit was to focus on making India's relations with the two countries stronger and deeper.
Similarly, on the occasion of completing 40 glorious years of India-Burnai Darussalam diplomatic relations, Prime Minister Modi has expressed his eagerness to meet His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah through a statement.
He said that he will hold talks with President Thurman Sanmugaratnam, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong in Singapore during the second leg of his visit.
