One Died Due To Dengue In Gorkha

Sep 17, Kathmandu- In Gorkha, one person has died of dengue. Ram Prasad Aryal, 47 years old from Gorkha Municipality-11 Barthok, has been identified as the deceased, Yam Prasad Sharma, Head of District Health Office Gorkha informed.

The District Health Office of Gorkha reported that the individual was initially admitted to Gorkha Hospital for several days following an examination at the District Hospital Gorkha on August 27. Unfortunately, he passed away on Monday while receiving treatment at Bharatpur Medical College.

Currently, Gorkha is experiencing a significant outbreak of dengue fever. By the third week of Shrawan and Bhadra, 377 people have been infected with dengue. Yam Prasad Sharma, Head of District Health Office Gorkha, said that 377 people were infected with dengue in Gorkha in almost two months. According to him, from 1 Shrawan to the third week of the month of September, 262 people in Gorkha Municipality, 48 people in Palungtar Municipality, 47 people in Arughat Village, 1 person in Mimsen Thapa Village, 12 people in Shahidlakhan Village, 2 people in Ajirkot Village, 3 people in Barpak Sulikot and 2 people in Gandaki Village have been diagnosed with dengue.

Similarly, scrub typhus infection has been observed in 207 people in Gorkha in one and a half months. Among them, 91 people in Gorkha municipality, 73 people in Arughat rural municipality, 29 people in Palungtar municipality, 8 people in Siranchok rural municipality, 3 people in Bhimsen Thapa rural municipality and 3 people in Shahid Lakhan rural municipality were infected with scrub typhus, said Narayan Babu Aryal, Epidemic Focal Person of the Health Office.

Dengue is transmitted by the bite of a female mosquito of the Aedes species. This mosquito bites mostly in the morning and evening. During the rainy season, this disease appears when the water starts freezing everywhere.

These mosquitoes breed in plastic, tin cans, drums, old tires, pots, clean water collected in coolers, open water tanks, etc. If the water accumulated in these places is not cleaned, the outbreak of disease increases.

When you get dengue, the symptoms of eyeballs and headache, body aches, muscle pain, headache, bleeding, body aches and fever appear. District Health Office Gorkha has appealed to all 11 local levels to conduct a campaign to bite and destroy mosquito larvae in 94 wards of Gorkha and to avoid mosquito bites to prevent dengue disease.
