Oct 10, Kathmandu- A building of a health center has been constructed in Malika rural municipality-3 Dandagaon of Myagdi. With the special grant of the federal government, Malika rural municipality has constructed the health post building at a cost of Rs. 15 million 983 thousand 772.

Deepak Sapkota, Head of Technical Branch of Malika Rural Municipality said that the building was constructed through different contracts in the last two financial years. "The land management and the first floor structure were built through the first contract", he said, "the construction of the two-storey building was completed with the second contract." In the current financial year 2081-82, a budget of 10 million has been received to build fences, furniture, entrances and other structures in the building premises. In the fiscal year 2080-81 with a budget allocation of one crore, Omen Oscar Construction Services, which signed a contract for 86,43,238, received 85,73,335 payments.

According to the rural municipality, the same construction company made 7 million 586 thousand 771 contracts and 74 lakh 10 thousand 437 payments were made in 2079 and 80 with a budget allocation of Rs 10 million.

On the ground floor, there are accommodation rooms for two families on the first floor of the building with health workers, treatment, medicine storage, assistance, office head's room, meeting hall. Ward president Motiprasad Budhathoki said that preparations are being made to operate the health post from the new building.

"Currently, the health center is being operated from a crude building with narrow rooms", he said, "After the construction of a facility-equipped building, service delivery will be easier." There are basic hospitals in Darbang, the center of Malika Rural Municipality, which has seven wards, and health centers in other wards. The construction of the building of the health post outside of Ward No. 1 Niskot has been completed. Preparations have been made for the construction of a health center building in Niskot through the Ministry of Urban Development.
