Nov 09, Kathmandu- Former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has said that President Joe Biden is responsible for the loss of Kamala Harris in the US election.

Responding for the first time after the results of the election, Pelosi commented that the situation would be better for the Democratic Party if Biden had already withdrawn from the presidential candidacy.

Pelosi, who is the leader of the Democratic Party, also claimed in a podcast interview that if Biden had already given up his candidacy, someone else would have been the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party.

Pelosi has said that the party's presidential nomination will include many candidates and the situation may be different than it is now. After Biden expressed his desire to contest the election again, the party did not consider other candidates, so there was no possibility of another candidate from the Democratic Party.

After Harris lost to Donald Trump in the election, accusations are being made within the Democratic Party. Some groups in the Democratic Party have now blamed former President Barack Obama for Harris' defeat.

Pelosi said that after Biden decided to withdraw from the presidential race after the first public debate with Trump, the party immediately agreed on the name of Kamala Harris. She commented that after President Biden immediately supported Harris, the other candidates did not even have time to think. Pelosi has been elected to the lower house for the 20th time from California in this election. Pelosi served as US Speaker from 2007 to 2011 and from 2019 to 2023.
