Nov 09, Kathmandu- The Nepali team has been announced for the U-19 Asia Cup Cricket to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) today announced an 18-member squad under the captaincy of Hemanta Dhami. Arjun Kumar is the vice-captain of the team. The team includes Akash Tripathi, Uttam Rangu Thapamgar, Mayan Yadav, Naren Saud, Yunis Bikram Singh Thakuri, Naren Bhatta, Santosh Yadav, Yuvraj Khatri, Roshan Bishwakarma, Bipin Kumar Mahato, Rajesh Yadav, Daya Nanda Mandal, Aparajit Poudel, Abhishek Tiwari, Dilsaad Ale and Ranjeet Kumar. The team's head coach is Shakti Gauchan and assistant coach is Dhirendra Chand. Nepal will play the first match of Group B against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup to be held in the UAE from Mangsir 14 to 23. Nepal will play its second match against Bangladesh on Mangsir 16 and the last match against Afghanistan on Mangsir 18.
India, Pakistan, Japan and UAE are in Group 'A' of the eight-team competition. The top two teams in the group will enter the semi-finals. The final match will be held on 23rd Mangsir.
