Medical Practitioner Prasai Remanded In Custody For Additional 4 Days

Dec 03, Kathmandu- Medical professional Durga Prasai, who was arrested for cybercrime, will remain in custody for another four days. The Kathmandu District Court on Sunday granted permission to keep him in custody for another four days for investigation.

He was arrested on charges of spreading rumors about Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's investments in Cambodia. The court had earlier granted him five days' detention for violating the Electronic Crimes Control Act, 2063.

Prasai, also making some documents public, had said that Prime Minister Oli had investments worth $210 million in Cambodia.

Similarly, one person has been arrested on charges of threatening a businessman during Prasai's detention. Police have said that they are also investigating him on that charge.
