Thousands Of Flights Canceled Due To Storms In The US

Jan 11, Kathmandu- More than 3,000 flights were canceled on Friday due to storms in the United States.

Delta Airlines said all five runways at Atlanta International Airport were closed for more than two hours. A Delta plane also had to cancel a flight to Atlanta after experiencing engine problems.

Flights at Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas) and Charlotte Douglas (North Carolina) were also affected by the bad weather. According to FlightAware, more than 1,200 flights were canceled at both airports.

The United States was hit by a storm earlier this week, killing five people and canceling hundreds of flights.

Temperatures dropped below zero degrees Fahrenheit (-18 degrees Celsius) in some places and thousands of people were left without power.
