Feb 16, Kathmandu- When asked about the benefits of sending Nepali workers abroad, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli replied that he is not a manpower company.
Prime Minister Oli said this in response to a question from MP Prabhu Shah about how much benefit was gained by pushing Nepali workers into a hellish life of slavery. Prabhu Shah had asked the Prime Minister, "How many people have renounced Nepali citizenship and taken up foreign citizenship? How much was their ancestral property and what is its current condition? What kind of initiatives are being taken to bring those illegal properties under state ownership? What should we say about a government that cannot stop illegal properties being openly taken abroad through hundi? Capable or incompetent? Prime Minister, what is your plan to bring those illegal properties back to the country?"
Adding to that, he asked another question and said, 7 million Nepalese have gone abroad for employment. How much did you benefit from pushing Nepali workers into a hellish life of slavery?’ Instead of answering this, he angrily said, ‘Am I a manpower company employee? Did this start eight months after I came to power? Did you say 7 million went in eight months?’
