Feb 18, Kathmandu- The National Planning Commission has estimated the budget ceiling for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 at around 1.9 trillion rupees. Accordingly, the commission has submitted the 'Report on National Resource Estimation and Expenditure Limit Determination 2081' to the Ministry of Finance.
The Ministry of Finance has estimated that only Rs. 1.692 trillion will be spent through the mid-term review, out of a budget of Rs. 1.86 trillion for the current fiscal year.
The Planning Commission has estimated the resources to increase by about 12 percent.
Recently, the government has issued an ordinance amending the Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility Act, requiring the government to determine the resource estimates and expenditure limits within the first week of Falgun and submit a report to the Ministry of Finance.
Accordingly, the Planning Commission has submitted a report on resource estimates.
