Mar 09, Kathmandu- Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has been granted relief in a tax evasion case worth Rs 10 crore. The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) has ruled in Khan's favour.
The tribunal has quashed the proceedings initiated by the revenue authorities in the financial year 2011/2012, Indian media reported. In the order, it was mentioned that the actor did not pay taxes in India on the remuneration received from his film 'Ra.One'.
The case dates back to 2012/13, when Shah Rukh Khan had declared a return of Rs 83.42 crore in his ITR. The Income Tax Department had re-investigated the case on the grounds that the actor had concealed the details and not provided complete information.
The tribunal also said that the Income Tax Department was not legally correct to initiate a re-assessment of the case. Due to which, actor Khan won these claims.
The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, stars Vicky along with Rashmika Mandanna, Akshay Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta.
This is the second collaboration between Vicky and director Laxman. They had worked together in the film 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke', which was released in 2023. Laxman Utekar has directed films like 'Mimi' and 'Luka Chuppi'.
