Prachanda's Dissatisfaction Over PM's Absence In The House

Mar 11, Kathmandu- Maoist Chairman and main opposition leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) has expressed dissatisfaction over Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's continued absence from the House during his address. He also expressed anger over the fact that Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane was not allowed to attend the Parliament.

Speaking at a special time in the parliament session today, Prachanda said, "Is the Prime Minister's constant absence when the leaders of the main opposition party speak in the parliament an act of arrogance, lack of culture or frustration? Find the answer yourself." Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is not in Kathmandu at the moment. He was absent from the parliament because he had reached there to address the Koshi Provincial Assembly. It was reported that the Prime Minister was unwell when Prachanda addressed the parliament the previous time.

Prachanda once again openly defended Rabi Lamichhane in his address. He even advocated for his admission to Parliament.

Prachanda said, "The leader of another opposition party has been suspended. We have already established the practice of allowing leaders who are not under detention to enter the House. Democracy will be strengthened only by holding debates within the House. Taking respect by going from place to place does not help democracy."
